Node-sqlite3 is probably one of the best modules used for working with SQLite3 database which is actively maintained and well documented. I don't think there's a universal answer to that, it's your call how you want the script to behave. It depends on your use whether you need the script to create a backup directory if it doesn't exist, or if you want to avoid it creating directories at unintended locations.
